A Bold Story

If you were the last woman surviving in this world, who would you choose to be with you as the last man? As expected, the answers often come down to the likes of Harry Styles, Chris Hemsworth, or Benedict Cumberbatch (Guilty as charged!).

However, things were not, particularly a bed of roses for Louise, the girl who enjoyed a lot of attention in her real life. She finds herself waking up in a shabby underground shelter with the office geek, Mark. For her, the “end” comes in the form of a nuclear attack. But Mark assures her that he would take good care of Louise and professes that she is the woman of his dreams and would do anything to protect her.

Up until this point, it is more than a nerd’s fantasy. But soon, things start to go sideways. What could be a dystopian romance quickly turns into a horrifying story of abuse and manipulation. Mark, the man who everybody laughed at and teased, now has the power. The table has turned to a degree where he restricts Louise’s food supply if she refuses to play Dungeon and Dragons with him. The office misfit begins strong-arming her to show him respect, free of the social pecking order.

Quickly enough, the intriguing story becomes a horrifying one. But more surprises await you towards the end. Any more words about this production will spoil the experience for you. So, you better get the After The End tickets and find out yourself.

A Stellar Cast and Crew

One of the three female directors to win the Olivier Award, Lyndsey Turner directs this Dennis Kelly masterpiece. The final cast is going to be announced soon. Meanwhile, go ahead and book your After The End tickets to grab the best seats at Theatre Royal Stratford East.
