Discover the city with Batobus Paris

Paris streets are teeming with tourists and can be too hectic for your liking. When looking to enjoy the various city attractions, while avoiding the traffic, you have only one option – the Batobus Paris. The water taxi service ferries tourists to and from eight of the major city monuments. Launched in 1989, the Batobus has become an integral transportation option for locals and tourists alike. Six of these taxis ply on the Seine today for you to use.

Board a Batobus at any time and from any of the points to explore Paris conveniently without incurring an additional cost. As long as the pass is valid, you can hop-on-hop-off these boats free of charge.

Centuries of history on the banks of the Seine

The Batobus Paris route starts from the Eiffel Tower and goes all the way to the Champs-Elysees.

Designed by Emile Nouguier and Maurice Koechlin between 1887 and 1889, the Eiffel Tower is the most recognizable Paris attraction. The three levels of the Tower, open to the general public, include Europe’s highest observation deck on the topmost level. In 2015, the landmark received 6.91 million visitors.

Next, Batobus travellers can disembark on the Musee d’Orsay stop. The museum houses the celebrated works of Van Gogh, Monet, Sisley and Degas. Keep an eye out for other impressionist and post-impressionist works of art inside the building.

The Louvre is another well-known museum and a Batobus stop. One of the largest art galleries in the world, the Museum contains priceless works of art, including The Mona Lisa from esteemed painter Leonardo Da Vinci. The glass pyramid outside the museum premises is another famous feature of the building.

On the taxi boat, you can even travel to Notre Dame Cathedral to appreciate medieval architecture. The stained windows, ceilings and walls of the landmark make it a truly special place attracting thousands of tourists each year.
