CRUISE is going live at London’s Duchess Theatre this summer. This lively and addictive show is a true story that unfolds what Michael Spencer’s last night on earth should have been, and it is playing for a strictly limited run! After Channel4’s It’s a Sin became hugely successful, CRUISE takes you on a journey that celebrates survival, unusual culture and life. It is perhaps the most elevating show in theatres this year. The Duchess Theatre is one reopening after long months of the lockdown effect, and what better way to be part of the reopening than booking the Cruise theatre tickets?

The Last Night On Earth? Maybe

Experience the life of Michael Spencer, a life full of unexpected twists, as he plans his last night on Earth. The story begins in 1884 when the doctors diagnose Michael with HIV. He learns that he only has 4 years to live, and when you discover your date of death, you become uncontrollable. So is the case with Michael. As time is running out, he and Dave, his partner, decide to sell the house and vend the car. The plan is to party like it is the last and spend everything they have. But life has other plans; Dave passes away after 2 years, leaving Michael to push a level further and waste himself away in drugs and alcohol.

Soon, he has spent his 4 years and it is time to bid everyone and everything goodbye. The date is 29th February 1988 and Michael is all set to end the night in the grandest possible way. Donning his beloved jacket, he starts a never-ending night of farewells. He goes to Soho, bidding goodbyes to everyone – friends and enemies, brothers and sisters, exes and allies, pubs and clubs, cafes and dive bars, and even strangers. He sings and dances and wishes his final night to everything but he does not die; he lives and grows old. Life has given him another chance, but what is left of it now that everything has been said and done?

The Cruise theatre tickets will acquaint you with life like never before. There is plenty of leaves to pick from this compelling and moving musical. Created for the mature audience, see this show and discover the essence of life.

The Creative Team

CRUISE is inspired by true events. When volunteering for the LGBTQ+ Listening Service, Switchboard, Jack Holden heard a true story that led to the creation of this beautiful tribute to wrecked by HIV and AIDS. It is imbued with warming 80s electronic music, which John Elliott performs live. This kaleidoscopic musical brings back the 1980’s Soho to celebrate the queer culture in ways you will remember. Bronagh Lagan is directing the musical for the West End and he is supported by a full-fledged creative team of Jack Holden (performer and writer), Jai Morjaria (Lighting Designer), Nik Corrall (Design), Max Pappenheim (Additional Sound Design) and STUFISH Entertainment Architects (Co-Design). Together, they offer a show you would love to watch no matter what genre you are addicted to. Get the Cruise theatre tickets today.
