Your Experience

You know where to find fantastic beasts – The Natural History Museum! In an effort to draw parallels between phenomenal creatures from the natural world and mythical beasts from the wizarding world, the museum presents, in all its glory, an exhibition that explores the wonders of nature. If you ever thought imagination was better than reality, you’ll realize with this exhibition that it’s just the opposite. The attempt is to show that the natural world can be just as amazing as fabled folklore, if not more. Displaying 50 specimens from the museum’s scientific collection alongside elements from the wizarding movies, the museum strives to draw relations between the two. Learn how the Demiguise from ‘Fantastic Beasts’ is connected to the Jaguar or what links the mating rituals of a Peacock Spider to Rowling’s Erumpent. There is also an attempt to compare the character Newt Scamander from Fantastic Beasts to real-world scientists who are equally passionate and concerned about the fate of the fantastic creatures that roam the world.
