Your Experience

Go on a full day trip from Paris to the D-Day beaches in Normandy, where on June 6th, 1944, more than 6000 vessels carrying thousands of Allied soldiers landed on French soil, marking the largest seaborne invasion in history. Your day begins in the center of Paris, where you will meet your guide and step on board an air-conditioned vehicle to begin the drive to Normandy.

Visit D-Day Landmarks, the American Cemetery and the Caen Memorial Museum

See several iconic landmarks that played an essential role during the landings. Stop at Pointe du Hoc, a 30 meter (90 foot) high cliff that was one of the key German fortified sites at the end of World War II, where 223 rangers landed on D-Day. Visit the American Cemetery at Saint Laurent and understand the shocking amount of casualties that took place as you stand amongst 9,387 white marble headstones. See the memorial and chapel and walk through the Garden of the Missing to pay tribute to the missing soldiers who lost their lives during and after the invasion. Soak up the atmosphere of this historic site as you overlook Omaha beach, one of the five D-Day landing beaches.

The Caen Memorial Museum, also known as the Peace Museum, gives you the chance to learn more about the Second World War, the Battle of Normandy and the advance of the allied forces in France. See a collection of objects representative of life under occupation and the military advancements and watch film screenings to learn more about the significance of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy.

Opt for a Guided Tour With Lunch or a Semi-Private Guided Tour

There are two variants for this experience: a guided tour with lunch or a semi-private guided tour. If you choose the guided tour with lunch, your first stop will be the Caen Memorial Museum. You will have lunch in the restaurant of the museum before visiting Pointe du Hoc and the Cemetery at Saint Laurent. Before heading back to Paris, you will visit either Mulberry Bridge, an artificial port in Arromanches where nearly 10,000 tons of equipment was unloaded on D-Day, or Juno beach and cemetery, a key landing beach for Canadian troops.

Upgrade to a semi-private guided tour for a more comfortable and intimate experience. In a small group of maximum 8 people, you will travel in a luxury mini bus with air conditioning and have plenty of time and opportunities to have your questions answered in detail by your expert guide. In addition to Pointe du Hoc, the American Cemetery and Mulberry Bridge, you will also visit the German artillery battery at Longues Sur Mer. The battery, located on a 60 meter (200 foot) high cliff overlooking the sea, is the only one to retain its original guns, giving an impressive sense of Germany’s extensive coastal fortifications. You will end your day trip at the Caen Memorial Museum, where you have free time to explore the memorial and museum.
