Mean Girls are back to teach you a thing or two about teenage life

The smash-hit Mean Girls has returned with a fresh new cast playing the characters you love to hate. This time, it is a Mean Girls Broadway production, enhanced with a lot of jazz. The story has been revised to realistically portray the lives of today’s teenagers who are lost in the world of social media. The show is based on the 2004 superhit film of the same name, which starred Lindsay Lohan. Everything you remember about the movie is delivered in a much better, musical way and you are going to love it.

The creatives and the cast

In October 2017, the Mean Girls musical premiered at Washington D.C.’s National Theatre, following a Broadway run at the August Wilson Theatre next year. Similar to the film, the latest production is the child of Tina Fey’s book. Casey Nicholaw of The Book of Mormon and Aladdin has been entrusted with the direction and choreography. With Nell Benjamin’s lyrics and Jeff Richmond’s music, the Mean Girls Broadway show is more enhanced than you can recall the movie. The role of Cady Heron is being played by Erika Henningsen, Taylor Louderman will be seen as Regina George, Kate Rockwell is Karen Smith, Ashley Park is playing Gretchen Wieners, Barrett Wilbert Weed will be Janis Sarkisian, and Grey Henson is playing the role of Damian Hubbard. All of them put forth a fantastic show that will give you a great time.

The story

Cady Heron has been living in Kenya for the most part of her life, spending her time doing fieldwork with her biologist parents. She likes her life but inside her is also the desire to live in the city. Soon, she travels to Chicago and gets into North Shore High School. While she was struggling to make new friends, Damian and Janis befriend her. Not too long passes before Regina George and her friends, who are known as The Plastics, takes notice of her.

Damian and Janis, like many others in the school, aren’t fond of Regina and her girls. So, they encourage Cady to join The Plastics and infiltrate them. But, Cady is not risk-free as she could potentially become one of The Plastics. With the story’s progress, the expected happens and Cady indeed becomes one of them. As she grows to become popular, she loses her friends and the boy she has a crush on.

Things get bad for Regina as her fame falls under Cady’s shadow. With revenge in mind, Regina uses the Burn Book on Cady and she has no other choice but to face the worst.

Will Cady manage to survive the problems that are coming her way? What about her lost friendship and love? The Mean Girls Broadway show is a great example of friendship and female power. It teaches how one should always stand their ground. Get your tickets to witness glitz and glamour and the troubling life of a teenager.
