My Fair Lady Comes to the Lincoln Theatre

Learner’s and Loewe’s My Fair Lady narrates the story of Eliza Doolittle, who is a young cockney girl. Eliza sells flowers, and one day she meets Professor Henry Higgins by chance. Mr Higgins is a linguistics professor who is desperate to establish that he can teach anyone to speak in a way that the people belonging to the higher ranks will accept the learner.

Sometimes, a question emerges- if the professor would change Eliza’s speech and her prospects in life. Even the audience can get suspicious of who is changing whom as the plot advances. My Fair Lady views society from a satirical perspective. This classy musical includes mesmerising songs such as “I could have danced all night”, “Get Me to the Church on Time”, “Wouldn’t it be Loverly”, “On the Street Where you Live”, “The Rain in Spain”, and “I’ve Grown Accustomed to Her Face”.

Bartlett Sher is the director of this production. He is a renowned American director who has been nominated for a prestigious 9 Tony awards. Sher is famous worldwide for his stupendous direction of some classics such as Fiddler on the Roof, The King and I, etc. Bartlett has also won a Tony award for directing a musical and a drama.

The glamour of the musical will be further enhanced by the participation of the award-winning English National Orchestra. It will instil life in Fredrick Lowe’s score on the Coliseum stage, London.
