A Cutting-Edge Drama

Jodie Comer, the BAFTA-winning actress, plays the role of Tessa, a young barrister who shines in her field for her sheer brilliance. She made her way to the top, working diligently but never forgetting her humble roots in the working class. She has earned a reputation for being a winner. No matter who her opponent is, Tessa fights tooth and nail to see to the end of the case. She prosecutes, cross-examines, and finally calls in the veracity of all the witnesses.

But the tables turn once Tessa finds herself behind bars. Now, she must fight the same system that she once used to her advantage. In addition to the existing legal obstacles, she has to face the wrath of patriarchy deeply entrenched into every layer of the legal system. Besides, the proof she has to defend herself does not match the gravity of the situation. Like a lone wolf, Tessa proceeds to take the unfair battle heads on. The play is a solemn saga of the triumph of female power over a traditionally male-dominated society.

Prima Facie marks the West End debut of the talented actress Jodie Comer. The incredible performer made appearances in celebrated movies and TV shows such as Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Lady Chatterley’s Lover, Killing Eve, The White Princess, Doctor Foster, and Thirteen. She also appears in the hit movie Free Guy opposite Hollywood superstar Ryan Raynolds. It marks her first appearance in the West End.
