Zorro the Musical

Zorro swings into London for a limited run this Spring

Catch The First London Revival of Zorro the Musical at Charing Cross Theatre

In a world crazy with Marvel superheroes and DC supervillains, Zorro remains one of the most exciting characters of all time. The character made his first appearance in a 1919 novella called The Curse of Capistrano by Johnston McCulley. However, Zorro became a well-known figure in popular culture thanks to the box-office hit movie The Mask of Zorro (1998).

Since then, he has appeared in different plays, TV series, comics, films, etc. However, the next big thing that took the world by storm was a spectacular musical production featuring the hero—Zorro the Musical. After a decently successful run tour, the show transferred to the West End in 2008. Almost immediately, it became a global sensation. The original cast showcased legendary performer Matt Rawles in the titular role of Zorro. He was accompanied by stars like Emma Williams, Adam Lavy, Lesli Margherita, and Jonathan Newth.

Following the decade-long popularity of the musical, Zorro USA, in collaboration with Aria Entertainment, usher the return of the hit production. So, if you want to relive the nostalgia of your childhood hero, make sure you book tickets now!

The Timeless Saga of the Masked Crusader

There is hardly anyone that is not aware of the spine-chilling story of Zorro. Beneath the scintillating action and charisma of the sensational vigilante, Zorro the Musical follows the same narrative of good vs evil, light vs dark. Set against the backdrop of 1850’s California, El Zorro fights against the autocratic leader of the pueblo to defend the commoners’ rights and secure justice. As the evil forces scramble to know the identity of the masked crusader and bring him down, the people celebrate their champion as he continues to strike back and save lives.

In this revival, the saga is told in an immersive and thrilling way, engaging the audience more than ever before. The production design is remarkably engaging, accompanied by foot-thumping music and a headily sensual set design. The musical numbers feature international hits by the legendary Gipsy King. They include Baila Me, Bamboleo, Djobi Djoba, and an original score to showcase a fresh new story about hope, courage, and love.
